Fresh from the alp

How is hay milk produced?

Fresh from the alps
WHAT DOES HAY MILK MEAN?
• Most original form of milk production
• Dairy cows are driven to the alpine pastures in summer, where they eat fresh grass and herbs
• In winter the cows get fresh hay
• The grass is dried and the hay made from it is stored in barns for the winter

But hay milk farmers don't just pamper their animals with species-appropriate feeding. Sufficient exercise, comfortable resting places and personal care also ensure well-being and make cows' hearts beat faster.
